Besides money, what is the best gift for a surrogate mother?

My son and daughter-in-law had a friend carry and deliver twins for them as a gift of love. If I could, I would give the surrogate a truck load of money as a thank you. I can't do that, so, from your experience, what sort of gift would be meaningful to the surrogate?

Diana,
How thoughtful of you to want to gift the surrogate mother for your son and daughter-in-law! It sounds as though she is very special indeed to give such a gift to them.
I have prepared a page on this site for those wishing to give gifts during (or following) a surrogacy. View that page here:
If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you will find many ideas for gifts to give at or following the birth. There are sentimental ideas, such as naming a star or planting a tree, humorous ideas like a wine of the month club (since she can drink alcohol again, if that's something she likes) and appreciative gifts like a spa certificate.
Everyone is different. You may ask your son and daughter-in-law what type of gift would best suit their friend's personality, or you might see something that best suits your personality, and the appreciation you feel. Whatever you gift her with, she will appreciate it.
Best wishes.
