Hello i am just wondering if having a surrogate mother to carry my child be the cheapest way for me as i have been sterilised and i can not afford ivf or reversal. so i thought about having a woman carry mine and my husbands baby. his sperm my egg. how much would it cost? please help me some one i have no clue. kind regards gillian houldey

Hi Gillian,
What you are describing is gestational surrogacy. That is where the surrogate mother goes thorough IVf to carry your baby.
It is drastically more expensive than just doing IVF for yourself, so if you cannot afford that, then there is no way you can afford gestational surrogacy. Figure on having all of the same expenses as IVF for yourself, along with lawyers fees, court costs, medical procedures, and a surrogate fee. In other words, add at least $50,000 to IVF to figure out how much it will cost.
Your best bet, if you are able to carry yourself, is to find a financial way to go through IVF on your own.
