I read the list of expenses and I was just wondering if any of that can be waived if my surrogate and my husband & I have our own agreement? Such as all the lawyer fees.. Can't we have a contract where we all have agreed.. without having 2 lawyers and stuff like that??

What a wonderful niece you have! As to any fees being waived, if she is not accepting compensation, then yes, her compensation fee is waived.
Since she is family you might be able to go down to one lawyer to make sure you are complying with all the surrogacy laws in your state and to fill out the proper paperwork naming you, and not your niece, as the parents of the baby. You don't want to go with no lawyers at all for this reason.
Other than that, the fees remain about the same. You'll need to pay for every pregnancy related expense, even things like prenatal vitamins and maternity clothes, if needed. Often, the little things get overlooked in an altruistic surrogacy, and the surrogate mother ends up paying out of pocket for her intended parents to have a baby! This is wrong, and is usually an oversight, but one that can strain a healthy relationship.
