I am having a baby for a friend of mine. He really wants to be a dad and wants to adopt the baby after its born. What issues can I come across legally. He will be adopting as a single parent in Florida.
Reply by Rayven If he is the biological father, he will not need to adopt his own child. If you are the biological mother, you will need to legally waive your rights as a parent and his wife will need to adopt the child through a step-parent adoption.
I am unsure by your post if you are already pregnant or are going to become pregnant. Get a lawyer before becoming pregnant. He can write up a contract for you and make the whole thing legal.

GET A LAWYER by: Rayven from Information on Surrogacy
If you are doing artificial insemination and the end goal is to have him parent the child 100% and you not to parent the child at all, it IS a traditional surrogacy and you MUST get all your legal ducks in a row BEFORE becoming pregnant. This is super important. Contact a surrogacy attorney in your state before proceeding.

Re: birth father adopt baby by: Anonymous
He does not have a wife. He will raise the baby himself with his family. He just wants to be a father. That shouldn't be an issue I would think. I am going to be artificially inseminated. Its more of a surrogacy. We are best friends and he asked me as a good friend.
