Can you become a surrogate if you are less than a month pregnant?

We have a friend who can't have kids. If me and my husband got pregnant could they implant a baby for the other couple if we were in the first month of pregnancy?

No, I'm sorry, this is not possible. Logistically, it would be a nightmare, even if it were medically possible.

Say it worked. Here are a couple of the problems that would occur:

1. How would you know whose baby is whose? When the babies were born, you'd have to wait for a DNA test to even be able to be sure you were holding your own baby.

2. What would happen if one baby died? You'd again have to wait for a DNA test, this time to see which lucky parents would get a baby and which would get a funeral.

3. Who would pay for all the costs of the pregnancy, delivery, etc, if the friend's baby died but not yours?

Its a lot more complicated, medically as well as logistically, than just sticking an extra embryo in. Medically, chances are if they tried it, you'd lose your child.
