Hi, I live in MA and was wondering if it is legal for my friend to become my surrogate (no agency). What would be the costs and logistics?

Reply by Rayven You are NOT required to use an agency to go through a surrogacy journey. Having a friend become your surrogate is a wonderful idea!
The costs would be the same as any other surrogacy, depending on whether or not your friend will be compensated. Of course, you would save yourself any agency fees.
You will still need a surrogacy attorney (and he can go over the specific laws regarding surrogacy in your state) and your friend should have her own attorney look over the paperwork as well (at your expense).
