I want to offer to be a surrogate for my friends

I am happily married, Have two beautiful children and really want to offer to be a surrogate for our married friends who have tried for 5 years to have a baby, but are not able to and are giving up. My husband supports my idea the only thing is Im not sure how to go about asking them if they want to do this, I dont want to upset them, but I know they will be awesome parents and it kills them that they cant conceive. ehat do u think I should do?

What a wonderful friend you are! You might want to start a conversation and ask if they had ever considered surrogacy, instead of just jumping in and volunteering. They might have thought of it, but declined, or they might have thought of it, but didn't know how to ask anyone close to them!

Let them lead the conversation, and if the timing is right, offer. If they just don't know too much about surrogacy, lead them online (to this site) to let them do some research, and see how it all works. Offer support first, and if this seems to be something they are considering, then offer to help them as their surrogate.

I still have not worked up the courage to talk to them about it, I am afraid of loosing there friendship, Afraid of how she might feel about me donating an egg and so on,I know it hurts them that they cannot have a baby and I think they have given up now, so me butting in now I feel might be inapropriate, maybe the time has passed... I would still do it in a heart beat for sure ,But wish there was an easier way of telling them!
