So I'm in the process of being a surrogate , and currently taking hormonal pills to regulate my period. I have to take the hormone pills for ten days than I will start my period on the third day of my period I will start birth control from the orders of my doctor. The problem is my doctor hasn't told me if I should or shouldn't have sex with my husband. So today was day four of hormone pills and couldn't help myself with him but while being intimate he accidentally came in me, immediately I hopped in the shower to rinse myself but now I'm nervous what are my chances of becoming pregnant even though I am taking pills so I can start my period in less than 10 days. ( this is the first time I will be a surrogate )
Reply by Rayven You need to contact your fertility clinic and tell them the situation. I have no idea what "hormone" pills you were placed on, but chances are you were capable of becoming pregnant at the time. Most likely you did not conceive, which should be evidenced by your period arriving on time. But do make sure you talk to your doctor.
If you have any questions about your medications or if you are allowed to have relations with your husband, you need to ask first. It is completely unacceptable to have sexual relations during preparation for a transfer without clearance.
It bothers me that you say you couldn't help yourself. There is no room for "couldn't help myself" in surrogacy. What would have happened if instead of this being several weeks prior to a transfer, it had been just a few days instead? This could have been a potentially devastating situation: emotionally for your intended parents and financially for you, as most contracts state if you give birth to your own child you owe back all fees associated with the surrogacy, including IVF and attorney fees.
Don't hesitate to contact your doctor's office and/or attorney if you have any questions regarding your actions. Better safe than sorry.
