Information on Surrogacy

Is it possible to do the gestational surrogacy if had hysterectomy?

(Texas)

My husband and I are looking into the gestational surrogacy but didn't know if this would be possible if I've had a hysterectomy. I have both ovaries and still ovulate monthly.

Thank you for your response!

From you post, it is unclear whether you wish to become a surrogate mother or become intended parents.

If you are looking to become a surrogate mother, no, you would not be able to having had a hysterectomy.

If you are looking to become intended parents through surrogacy, yes, anyone, including same sex couples, can go the gestational surrogacy route.

Since you still have ovaries, it may be possible to harvest your own eggs, depending on your specific health conditions (please check with your fertility doctor).

But even if you are unable to use your own eggs, you are still able to get an egg donor and do gestational surrogacy.
