Ive had an ablation and my tubes tied is it still possible to have an gestational pregnacy?

Well, it really depends on what kind of ablation you had. Was this a tubal ablation meaning the tubes themselves were burned or are you referring to an endometrial or uterine ablation?

If its just the tubes, then chances this would not affect your ability to qualify to become a surrogate mother. You would need to check with your doctor to see if you meet the other requirements of surrogacy.

But if you had an endometrial ablation, then you will not be able to go through IVF to become pregnant. A uterine ablation destroys the inner cavity of the uterus, and cannot be repaired. You will not be able to become pregnant by any means, including IVF, and will absolutely not qualify to become a surrogate.

Bottom line: check with your doctor.

Oh well that's too bad. I had the Nova sure done....so that counts me out. I signed up to be a surrogate mom years ago and when a family was found for me I was already pregnant again with my own child. I'm soo disappointed!
