I am a 27 year old mommy of one and while I do not have any interest right now in having another baby, we have friends who are experiencing serious trouble in staying pregnant. I would love to offer my womb and body to them to grow their baby for them but Im not sure financially if they could do it. I would like to be more informed before I approach them about my willingness to help them.

Yes, surrogacy is extremely pricey. It can run $40-100K+ easily. I cannot give you a closer estimate because it depends on so many factors:
1. Will this be traditional or gestational surrogacy? 2. Is an egg donor needed? 3. Will you be compensated? 4. How much do your lawyers charge? 5. Do you have medical insurance that will cover the pregnancy? 6. Will you get pregnant the first time?
Of course, this is only a few of the dozens of factors to be considered, but any way you go, yes, surrogacy is expensive for intended parents and is not possible for all families.
