Information on Surrogacy

Surrogate lawyer

Thank you for taking another question for me.. What kind of lawyer do we need to hire.. And also after we do that and get her health insurance do we just go to our fertility doctor and with all of our paperwork?? What should they require to do the FET?? Does my niece need to go to a therapist is that required by law?? Sorry for all the questions.. I am really confused.. Thank you for your time !!

You need to find a lawyer that specializes in surrogacy or third party parenting that practices in the state the baby will be born in. You will need to follow the surrogacy laws in that state; not the state you live in or the state the transfer takes place in.

As to what you need to give your fertility doctor, you'll need to ask him what, if anything, he requires.

Some states may require therapy; I'm not familiar with all the various laws in each state. I have not experienced this as a requirement in the states I have been a surrogate mother in (Florida and Texas).

Your next step is to contact that lawyer. They will be able to go over all of this with you.

Best wishes.
