Synchronizing my cyle with the intended mothers - how long does it take?

The fertility clinic that I will be working with for the IVF to become a gestational surrogate will be putting me on BC pills once my period starts to being getting my cycle in sync with the intended mother's. How long does it take to get in sync? Can they pull it off in one month? I'm just trying to plan out the next 3 months of my life and am trying to figure out when I'll be traveling for the IVF. I live in Utah, the IPs are in Conneticut. Any info is greatly appreciated!
Reply by Rayven This is one of those things that you will need to discuss with your clinic. It generally takes a few weeks to a couple months to sync you. What they will do when they are ready to sync you is have you take only active pills until a certain day and then stop you, depending on your clinic's protocol.
As far as traveling goes, each clinic is so different. For example, the clinic I use has fresh and frozen transfers sync not with the intended mother, but with their transfer schedule, as they only do transfers at a particular clinic one week every three months.
In addition, I had to fly in and out to the clinic for a baseline ultrasound five days prior to transfer, then fly back the day before the transfer, then stay on bedrest at a hotel for 24 hours. Some clinics require 36-72 hours bedrest. Some say you can do the baseline ultrasound locally and save time/money.
You really just need to talk to the clinic to get a better idea of future travel plans. So much in surrogacy is "hurry up and wait"...it feels like nothing is happening and then all of a sudden things are happening so fast they will make your head spin! And everyone seems to be running around like chickens with their heads cut off!
