What would the cost of surrogacy be if a friend was an altruistic surrogate mother?

How much would it cost and for what if my best friend carries a child for me and my husband?
My tubes are tied, and after reading information about the percentage rates on conceiving after having my tubes untied, we're thinking of having my best friend be a surrogate, and she is all for it. Any suggestions?

You are very fortunate to have such a wonderful friend!
Is your friend accepting a fee for being your surrogate mother? If not, and she has decided to be an altruistic surrogate mother, you will be saving quite a bit of money.
You still need to pay for the IVF procedures (assuming you are intended to use your eggs instead of hers) and medications, as well as testing for all 4 of you (including her partner), a lawyer for both you and her, legal/court costs, and medical expenses surrounding the pregnancy.
All in all, without a surrogate's fee and an agency's fee, you will save $20-40,000.
Best wishes!

you can do it by: Anonymous
you can do IVF on your own with your tubes tied they just take your eggs and do all that you're going to with your friend.

Tubes tied by: Rayven from Information on Surrogacy
You know, if it's simply because your tubes are tied that you are interested in surrogacy, it might make sense to simply go through IVF on your own. They could take your eggs, without untying you, and put them back in as embryos. You could carry your own child, and it would be much less expensive than even an altruistic surrogacy. (No legal paperwork/lawyers, etc)

My question by: Amy Lyn
as far as I know, she's not accepting any fee...but that's only if we can't have my tubes untied and conceive...
