Information on Surrogacy

When is a reasonable timeline to talk about surrogacy?

My sister-in-law and brother and my husband and I are talking about me being a surrogate for them, I have a 2 year old and we are talking about soon having another baby of our own. When is a reasonable time to be considering having a baby for my brother? I have heard that you should complete your own family first.

The timeline really just depends on your personal situation. But you are right; it is imperative that you complete your own family first.

Complications happen in surrogacy. It would be devastating if in helping your brother, you gave up the ability to have any more of your own future children.

Finish your family, and if you and your husband have discussed the spacing of your children, make sure you stick with your plans, and don't let your desire to help your brother alter them. Do what's right for your family, and then, if the timing is right, assist your brother with his.
